    Bubble wrap or butchers paper?
This question may weigh a little harder on your mind if you are concerned about waste. It may be tough to strike a balance between waste, expense, and need, especially when your main goal is to safeguard your fragile objects during a trip that is mostly out of your control.
  • Let us take a closer look at these two famous packaging methods to see when and where they are most useful.
  • Keeping your valuables and surfaces safe (dinner wear, glass wear, dishes, mirrors, frames etc.)Although bubble wrap is important, it is overkill on certain things because butchers paper will perform just as well, is less expensive, and recyclable. It takes up less room and makes it easier to stack objects in boxes, such as dishes. While it may be tempting to recycle the Sunday newspaper, keep in mind that newsprint can smear ink into your possessions, making some surfaces nearly hard to clean.
  • However, if you are packing really heavy or fragile objects, putting a layer of bubble wrap between the paper wrap and the item can provide some further protection without using too much plastic.
Items that are rather large (Appliances, ceramics, artwork etc.)
Bubble wrap is especially useful for large items since its shape provides for cushioning, which protects against impact. However, because bubble wrap can shred, you might give an extra layer of protection by wrapping them in butchers paper first. . It is difficult to be trash aware with these things, but if you are resourceful, you will be able to recycle the bubble wrap for later use movers and packers .
  • Electronics (Electronics) (Computers and laptops, gaming consoles, etc.)
Bubble wrap is very useful for fragile electrical gadgets, and you will not need to use any more paper with these products because they are light and have relatively tough surfaces. Movement and impact are the primary threats they face. Wrap these goods in bubble wrap and secure them with tape, but make sure they do not move around inside the box. Pack them with lots of other soft materials in between them, such as towels or sheets – non-disposable items that will keep things from drifting around in the boxes.
  • Both are effective, but you should only use what you require.
Overuse of either might increase the bulk of your things, resulting in more space and money.
  • I am not sure how many boxes I will need.
When you look around at all your belongings, it is difficult to visualize them all packed into boxes. Even more difficult to imagine is how many boxes those items will fit into. Finding boxes is not always straightforward, and buying them can significantly increase your moving budget, so do not buy too many (although if you buy them from Bunnings, you can return your unused ones for a refund). In the same spirit, you do not want to be caught short when it comes time to pack your belongings and get home.

Color-code each room in your new house and mark your boxes with the matching colour so that on moving day, you can guide the movers to place the boxes in the appropriate room. This will save you time, but if you want to save money, have the removalists put all of the boxes in one easy-to-access area and use your colour coding to figure out where they should go when you are ready.

  • On the label, indicate which room the boxes belong in as well as a brief description of the contents. Label the tops and sides of the boxes, and make a note of which ones are HEAVY so the removalist knows what to expect.
